Step 1: Site survey and coverage plan
Before any drilling, our engineers walk the property and map entry points, blind spots, lighting conditions and cable routes. This determines how many cameras you actually need — often fewer, better-placed cameras beat more cameras placed randomly.
Step 2: Camera placement that holds up in real incidents
- Entrances at face height range — angled to capture faces, not the tops of heads.
- Perimeters with overlap — each camera covers its neighbour's blind zone.
- Against the sun — positioned so WDR handles backlight at gates and shop fronts.
- Out of easy reach — high enough to resist tampering, angled to still identify.
Step 3: Clean cabling (PoE)
Modern IP systems run on one network cable per camera — power and video together. Our installers route cables through conduits, label both ends and leave service slack, so future maintenance doesn't mean re-wiring.
Step 4: Recorder and app configuration
Installation isn't finished when cameras are mounted. We configure the NVR recording schedule, motion zones and AcuSense rules (so alarms fire for people and vehicles, not shadows), set up the hard drive, and connect everything to Hik-Connect on your phone — live view, playback and notifications, tested in front of you.
Step 5: Handover and training
You get a walkthrough: how to review footage, export clips for police reports, adjust notifications and add users for family or staff. Plus our support line for anything that comes up later.
