The DS-KIS610-P is the start of Hikvision's new generation of intercom kits — the first real step forward in the category in years: a 4 megapixel camera (twice the resolution of the older kits) with a wide 150° angle that shows you the person at the door head to foot along with the box in their hands, plus Wi-Fi 6 + Bluetooth, and four ways to open the door: a card, Bluetooth from your phone as you walk up, the Hik-Connect app from anywhere, or from the indoor monitor.

Does 4 MP really make a difference over 2 MP on an intercom? Yes, and clearly — especially at night and when you go back to review a visitor recording: the face and the detail are far clearer, and the 150° angle takes in the whole scene.

What is it missing compared with the KIS612-P? One thing: the PIN keypad on the door. If you want the household to enter with a code instead of cards — the 612-P, for a small difference.
